ANTENNA & BEST is the latest station in the musical journey of Antenna Tony Monorail (Basel, Switzerland) who has been rolling down his minimalist track for over a dozen years now in solo, duo or trio formation. At the center of his sound is always the ancient jaw-harp (guimbarde, marranzano, maultrommel), with its mind-bending metallic twang. Add to that some harmonica and occasional lap steel guitar, a nice thick layer of reverb and distortion, and finally the rocking drums of Tom Best (Danny & the Two Toms), and you find yourself travelling through a bizarre and wonderful landscape where country blues morphs into new wave, dub and psychedelic garage punk. Retrofuturism at its finest!
